Whether you're just starting your nursing journey or already an LPN, Ambria’s RN program is designed to help you take the next step toward becoming a professional nurse.

Graduates of our Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing program earn their degree and become eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam—your gateway to becoming a registered nurse.

To apply for the AAS program, you'll need to meet the admission requirements listed below. Keep in mind that meeting these requirements doesn’t guarantee admission until you receive an official acceptance letter.

Admission Requirements

All applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment and must have a high school diploma or GED equivalence.

General Admission Requirements

Achieve 60% or higher on Entrance Exam (TEAS)

Applicants for the RN program* must pass the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam with a cumulative score of 60% to demonstrate readiness for Ambria’s nursing program. This is a 3-hour proctored exam held at Ambria’s campus, consisting of four sections: English, Reading, Science and Math.

* Applicants with a valid LPN license are exempt from the entrance exam.

Participate in an RN Admission Interview

An interview by the Dean of Nursing or faculty is part of the RN admission process.

In order to particpate in the interview process, you must have completed the following requirements:

Pass the RN entrance exam
Submit your official transcripts for evaluation
Show proof of completion of prerequisite courses:
English Composition , Intro to Psychology
Anatomy & Physiology I & II and Microbiology (all with a lab component) must have been completed within the last five years
Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher (no nursing failures and no more than four gen-ed failures)

For foreign school graduates only:

High school foreign transcripts can be evaluated by these preferred NACES-member agency.

World Education Services (WES) or
Foreign Credential Evaluation (ECE)

High school transcripts from foreign institutions must be evaluated for U.S. high school equivalency by a credential evaluation agency that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE).
